The time is flying by...

Well, it's been a month since the last time I posted on the blog.  For the past month, we have been going through home renovations, which is the worst thing you could do in your 3rd trimester!  Oh well, Nik and I are procrastinators.  We had our utility room updated with new plumbing, a hot water heater, and new flooring.  New windows were installed through out the house, which make a huge difference!  No longer does the neighbor's rooster wake me up at 6:00am, nor do we hear all the cars driving by our house.  As the windows were being installed, we had several rainy days...and we discovered a leak through one of the windows.  We called our insurance, made a property claim, and they discovered wind and old hail damage on our roof.  So, we were lucky to get a decent insurance check to replace the roof.  Yay! So, yes, we got our roof replaced last week along with the siding which was rotten and water damaged in many spots.  This week, our house is being painted...and that will be it!

Today, I am 31 weeks and 5 days.  Last week, my doctor measured my belly and she said I'm measuring a week ahead of schedule.  I feel and look huge!  My feet are starting to spread and my ankles were swollen last Friday for the 1st time.  Last week, I also started getting heartburn all the time!  It has gotten better the past 2 days...I stopped drinking coffee, orange juice, and eating tomatoes, salsa, etc.  I'm eating Tums or taking an acid reducer if it's really bad.   The baby continues to keep me entertained with all the movement and kicking.  Nik is starting to play with the baby by tapping  his fingers on my belly and waiting for a response.  Memaw is encouraging me to talk to the baby, and while driving in the car, I sing to the baby while listening to the radio.

I have 14 days left of work before I am off for the summer.  I am so ready, words cannot describe!  I am ready to relax, start organizing, and nest.  Sometimes, I have these strong feelings that the baby is going to be early, not too earlier, but earlier than expected.  Time will tell!
